Windows 0x80073CF9: Fixing Microsoft Store Errors
The 0x80073CF9
error typically occurs when installing or updating apps from the Microsoft Store on Windows.
This error is often caused by issues with Microsoft Store cache, corrupted system files, or conflicting background processes.
To start, run the Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters
, then select Windows Store Apps
.
This tool will automatically scan for and fix any issues related to the Store apps.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, try resetting the Microsoft Store cache.
Press Win + R
, type wsreset.exe
, and press Enter.
This will reset the cache and fix many common Microsoft Store issues.
If resetting the Store cache doesn't work, you can manually reset the Store app.
Open Settings > Apps > Apps & Features
, find Microsoft Store
, click on it, and select Advanced Options
.
From there, you can click on the Reset
button.
If the error still persists, you may need to repair your system files by running the sfc /scannow
command in Command Prompt.
Finally, if none of the steps work, consider creating a new user account and reinstalling the Microsoft Store on the new account, as user profile corruption can sometimes cause these errors.
