Procreate Canvas Not Responding to Touch or Stylus Input
If your Procreate canvas is not responding to touch or stylus input, there could be a few different causes.
The first thing to check is the condition of your iPad’s screen.
If the screen is dirty, oily, or has any obstruction, it may not register touch or stylus input correctly.
Clean the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure that there is nothing blocking the stylus from making proper contact with the surface.
If the screen is clean and the issue persists, check the connection between your stylus and iPad.
If you're using an Apple Pencil, make sure it's properly paired with your device.
You can do this by going to your iPad’s Bluetooth settings and ensuring that the Apple Pencil is connected.
If it isn’t, unpair and re-pair the Pencil.
If you're using a third-party stylus, ensure it's compatible with Procreate and that the necessary drivers or settings are correctly configured in the app.
If the canvas still doesn't respond, restart Procreate and try again.
Sometimes, the app can glitch and cause the canvas to become unresponsive.
If restarting the app doesn't help, try restarting your iPad to clear out any memory or app-specific issues that might be causing the problem.
Another solution is to reset the app's settings by going to the app's Preferences and selecting Reset. This can help resolve issues that are caused by misconfigured settings.
If your stylus input is working in other apps but not in Procreate, it could be a software issue with Procreate itself.
Try updating the app to the latest version, as bugs related to input responsiveness are often addressed in updates.
Additionally, check if your iPad is running low on storage or memory.
Procreate may not register input correctly if the device is too full.
If your device is low on storage, try freeing up space to see if that resolves the issue.
Finally, if none of these solutions work, contact Procreate’s support team for further troubleshooting.
