How to Fix "Figma Layers Not Visible After Update"
After an update, some users have reported that certain layers or objects in their Figma files are no longer visible.
This could be related to several factors, such as layer visibility settings, component overrides, or even display bugs caused by the update.
The first step is to check if the layers are accidentally hidden.
In the Layers panel, ensure the eye icon next to the layer or group is visible.
If the eye icon is missing, click on it to make the layer visible again.
Another common cause of this issue is the use of components or nested layers.
If you're working with components or instances, sometimes an update may cause overrides that affect the visibility of elements within the component.
Double-check your component settings and reset overrides if needed.
You can do this by selecting the component, right-clicking, and selecting Reset All Overrides. If this doesn’t work, try resetting Figma’s preferences.
You can do this by closing Figma, deleting the app’s preferences file, and reopening it.
For the desktop app, the preferences file is located in your ~/.config/Figma
directory.
If the issue persists, check your display settings.
Sometimes, Figma may be affected by system-specific settings or display scaling options.
Try adjusting your display settings or resetting them to default.
Additionally, update your graphics drivers, as outdated drivers can cause rendering issues that affect the visibility of layers.
Finally, if you have many layers in the file, Figma may be having difficulty rendering them all.
Try grouping related layers or simplifying the file to improve performance.
